Another important lesson we learned is about giving back to the community or to a charity.
Taking this step says a lot about a company’s morals and it sets up a positive perception
about you in the eyes of your clients and prospects. Plus, it gets you into the media in most
cases. Publications love to write about people who give back, so it’s an easy way to get free
publicity.





While giving back does help with your marketing, that should not be the primary reason
you do it. Make sure you choose a charity or community that is in keeping with your
mission so that you feel passionate about the services or donations you are providing. It
can be a great way to feel whole as a business owner.
