Compound Marketing

There will be times when having your own booth at a trade show will be effective for you.
When that is the case, you can increase that effectiveness by compounding your marketing
efforts at the show. Here’s how you would do that:

Hire someone to hand out circulars – The circulars would be distributed to
attendees while walking through the show, and the purpose of the circular would be
to invite them to visit your booth. You’ll stand out by doing this because most
vendors will not be doing this. That means you will get more visitors and speak to
more prospects.
. Give away brochures – Hand these out at your booth so you can keep the costs
down since you will be distributing a lot less than the circulars. Many people attend
shows to collect brochures so they can browse through them at home and place
their orders, so don’t miss this important step.
. Give away a memorable leave behind – Brochures are important, but it’s not what
is going to hold their interest when they get home. What can you send them home
with that will make them remember you and like you? Promotional products are a
great way to accomplish this because you can get almost anything created with your
logo on it. A handyman, for example, could give away a screwdriver with his logo on
it. A dentist could give away toothbrushes. By doing a Google search for
“promotional products” or “advertising specialties” in your area, you can come up
with a local manufacturer who can help you find the perfect product for your
business.
. Demonstrate your products and services – Seeing is believing. It’s one thing to
talk about how great your offerings are, but it is another to demonstrate it.

Guerrillas always take the advantage over the competition, and this is one way to do
that.
. Offer free samples – Seeing is believing, but experiencing is wanting. If you get to
sample something, and you love it, you want it; therefore offer as many samples as
you can.
