Selecting Trade Shows For Your Niche

If you plan to exhibit at trade shows and conventions, finding the right ones is key. You will
waste a lot of time and money by choosing the wrong ones. What defines a “wrong” trade
show? If the show attendees are not the kind of people who would buy your products or
services, it is the wrong show for you. If the target market is right, but the show is poorly
attended, it is also the wrong show.

To find trade shows that would suit your products or services, pick up a copy of the
Tradeshow and Convention Guide at your library or order one from Budd Publications, P.O.
Box 7, New York, NY 10004. You can also Google your local convention center to find their
website, which will list all of their upcoming trade shows.

Trade shows can be an extremely powerful weapon that if launched properly can land huge
success. Visit the shows you are considering exhibiting in, research them well to make sure
they are the best shows for you, and then get creative with your planning, and you’ll join
the guerrilla marketers who get the most out of their trade show marketing.
